Ardith D. Reed, age 73, of Defiance, Ohio and formerly of Auburn passed away on Sunday, March 19, 2017 at her Defiance home. 

She was born on June 4, 1943 in Detroit, Michigan to Clarence and Hazel (Webb) Mattice.

Ardith worked at Stanadyne in Garrett for 7 years.  She then Foamex in Auburn for 13 years.  After retiring from Foamex she worked as a greeter at the Auburn Walmart for 3 years.  She also did private in-home health care for 20 years.

She was a member of the Second Baptist Church in Defiance, Ohio.

Survivors include: 

Son and daughter-in-law; Don and Dawn Reed of Montpelier, Ohio.

Son and daughter-in-law; Douglas and Pam Reed of Defiance, Ohio.

Daughter and son-in-law; Denise and Rob Bauer of Continental, Ohio.

7 grandchildren; Raymond Reed, John Rohlf and his fiancé Dani Higgenbotham, Spenser Reed, Kodi Reed, Leah Townsend, Miranda Townsend and Jada Townsend. 

2 great granddaughters and 3 great grandsons.

2 step-grandchildren; Brandon Bauer and Brittany Bauer and her fiance; Chad Long.

2 step-great grandchildren.

Several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one son; Duwayne Reed, 2 sisters; Carol Frost and Darla Mattice and one brother; Gary Mattice.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
