Charles Rosenbury, age 88, a lifetime resident of St. Joe passed away on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne. 

He was born on December 29, 1928 in rural Butler to Waldo and Vera (Walter) Rosenbury.

Mr. Rosenbury honorably served his country in the United States Army from 1951 to 1953.  He was very proud to have been a part of Honor Flight Northeast Indiana to Washington, D. C. in October of 2016.

He married Beverly Rose Nodine on March 28, 1954 in Garrett.  She preceded him in death on October 31, 2004.

Mr. Rosenbury worked for Kraft Foods in Kendallville for 25 years retiring in 1989.

He was a member of the Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church in rural Butler.  He was a 50 year member of the Concord Masonic Lodge where he served as the master 3 times and the treasurer for 22 years.  He was also a member the Fort Wayne Valley Scottish Rite, the Fort Wayne Mizpah Shrine and the Butler American Legion Post 202.  Chuck was a 1965 Ford Mustang enthusiast.  He owned 4 over the years with 2 of them still remaining in the family.  He was an avid IU basketball fan.  Most of all he loved his family, especially his grandkids!

Survivors include: 

Son and daughter-in-law; Kent and Debra (Bowman) Rosenbury of Marietta, Georgia.

Son and daughter-in-law; James and Jeanette (Sabo) Rosenbury of Auburn.

4 grandchildren; Aaron Rosenbury and his wife Audra of Nashville, Tennessee, Alison Hodges and her husband Jon of Atlanta, Georgia, Jenna Rosenbury of Auburn, and Janelle Rosenbury of Cincinnati, Ohio.

1 great granddaughter; Avonlea Rosenbury.

Sister; Carol Culbertson of Melbourne Beach, Florida.

Several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents, his wife; Beverly and brother; Robert Rosenbury.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church, 4099 Co Rd 59 in Butler.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the church.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 4, 2017 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at the Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 South Center Street in Auburn.

Visitation will also be held on Friday, May 5, 2017 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at the Feller and Clark Funeral Home in Auburn. 

A Masonic service will be held at 7:00 PM on Friday following visitation at the funeral home. 

Burial will be at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Auburn.

Military honors at the cemetery will be provided by the Butler American Legion Post 202 Color Guard and active members of the United States Arm.

Officiating the funeral service will be Rev. Christine Fodrea and Rev. John Denmark.

Memorials may be directed to the Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church, 4099 County Road 59, Butler, Indiana 46721.
