Waterloo – Clayton E Mitchener, 83 of Waterloo passed away Wednesday October 19, 2016 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. Clayton was born January 2, 1933 in Auburn to Leone and Bonnie (Shilling) Mitchener. He attended St. Joe High School and served his country from 1953 to 1955 in the US Army. He is a member of the First Church of Christ in Garrett, He was a Boy Scout Leader in Waterloo for several years and loved to travel and camp in National Parks. His greatest passion was basketball , especially Dekalb Baron Basketball since the beginning. Clayton worked at Dana Corporation in Auburn for 44 years and was also a farmer. He married Leoma Vian on March 3, 1957 in the Cedar Lake Church of Christ and she survives. Also surviving are four children, Rick Mitchener, Rita (Gary) Daub, Julie (David) Stackhouse and Shawn (Kim) Mitchener; 11 grandchildren, Lindsay (Trent) Schott, Cody (Lindsae) Mitchener, Ethan (Stephanie) Mitchener, Micalah Mitchener, Travis (Anna) Stackhouse, Morgan (Brook) Likes, Bridgette (Elliott) Minnick, Colby Stackhouse, Adison Daub, Dahlton Daub, Hunter Daub and 13 great grandchildren; 1 brother in law, Lyle Vian and his wife Janet. Funeral service is 2 PM Saturday October 22, 2016 at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 875 South Wayne Street, Waterloo, IN with Brother Bud Owen officiating. Burial in Fairfield Cemetery, Corunna.
