Elizabeth “Betsy” Simon, age 68, of Garrett passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. 

She was born on April 1, 1948 in Garrett to John and Doris (Hull) Sapp.

Betsy was a homemaker.  She also worked as a dispatch supervisor for the Garrett Police Department for over 25 years. 

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Garrett.  She was an active member of the Garrett Eagles and the Psi Iota Xi sorority in Garrett.  She enjoyed cooking and baking.  She was also an avid reader and liked spending time at the Garrett Public Library.  She loved spending time with her family.

Survivors include: 

Son and daughter-in-law; Jim and Ginger Simon of Garrett.

Son and daughter-in-law; Matt and Georgette Simon of Garrett.

Daughter and son-in-law; Amy and Mike Powell of Fishers, Indiana.

10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Sister and brother-in-law; Mary Ann and Richard Murley of Garrett.

Brother; James Sapp of Fort Wayne.

Brother and sister-in-law; Joseph and Julieanne Talley of Portland, Oregon.

Brother; David Talley of Garrett.

She was preceded in death by her father; John Sapp and her mother; Doris Talley.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 26, 2017 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at the Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 South Center Street in Auburn.  

Funeral mass will be held on Friday, January 27, 2017 at  10:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 300 West Houston Street, Garrett, Indiana 46738.
