Floyd Krontz, age 83, of Spencerville passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Laurels of DeKalb Nursing Home in Butler. 

He was born on June 27, 1933 in Butler to Delbert and Hazel May (Mock) Krontz.

Mr. Krontz honorably served his country in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955. 

He married Elizabeth “Betty” Wade on December 30, 1973 in Angola.  She resides in Spencerville.

Mr. Krontz worked for Universal Tool in Butler for 37 years retiring in 1995.

He was a member of the Butler American Legion Post 202 and the National VFW.  He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed traveling.  He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and great grandchildren.

Survivors include: 

His wife; Betty Krontz of Spencerville.

Son and daughter-in-law; Floyd “Vic” and Laura Krontz of Butler.

Son; Delbert “Joe” Krontz of Angola.

Son; Alan Krontz of Angola.

Son; Jerry Krontz of Butler.

Step-son and daughter-in-law; Steve and Janie Wade of Waterloo.

Step-daughter and son-in-law; Brenda and Richard Ochoa of Fort Wayne.

Step-Daughter and son-in-law; Cary and Shawn McDaniel of Waterloo.

Step-daughter and son-in-law; Diane and Gilbert Mercer of Butler.

Step-daughter; Pam Bell of Auburn.

10 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter on the way.

Brother; Kenneth Krontz of Florida.

Sister; Joanne Wehmer of Hammond, Indiana.

Many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers, 6 sisters and 1 step- great grandson.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 27, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 875 South Wayne Street in Waterloo. 

Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 26, 2017 from 2:00 to 6:00 PM at the Feller and Clark Funeral Home in Waterloo.  Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the service on Monday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 AM.

Burial will be at the Butler Cemetery in Butler.

Officiating the funeral service will be Pastor Dale Rabineau.

Memorials may be directed to the DeKalb County Heart Association and the American Cancer Society.
