St. Joe - Garnet “Pauline” Doub,  93, died peacefully Sunday afternoon, August 13, 2017, at DeKalb Health, surrounded by family at the time of her passing.

She was born on March 21, 1924 on the Koeppe family farm in Wilmington Township, DeKalb County, Indiana to the late George Carlton and Lenora (Sherer) Koeppe.  Pauline was proud of her Koeppe family heritage and attended the Koeppe Reunion in July as the oldest member.

Pauline attended the Hablawetz school, Butler High School and Wayne Beauty College .

She married Max Hobart Doub May 29, 1942 at the Church of Christ Parsonage in Butler, Indiana  in a double wedding ceremony with Tim and Delores Inlow.  Fifty years later the two couples celebrated their anniversary together with a reception at the Coburn Corners Church of Christ.

Pauline was a life time member of the Newville Church of Christ where she taught Bible school and VBS classes and also lead singing.  She also attended services at the First Christian Church in Avon Park, Florida, and was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ.

During World War II, Pauline worked at Dana Corp and later at Skogmos Clothing Store in Butler.   At age 44, she went to Beauty College with a dear friend, Kate Vose.   After graduating, she worked at the Corner Salon in Auburn.  Most of all, she enjoyed working at home and providing a loving environment for her family.  Pauline and Max spent several retirement years at Lake Glenada, Avon Park Florida.

Surviving are her daughter Linda (Robert) Wilder, daughter-in-laws, Martha Doub and Patsy Doub;  five grandchildren, Carey Doub, Ingrid (Mark) Tom, Jonathan (Teri) Wilder, Matthew Wilder, and step granddaughter Tammy (Nick)  Cain; seven great grandchildren, Kyle Doub, Taylor Doub, Shelby (Philip) Brown, Chase Phillips, Ethan Wilder; step great grandchildren, Waylon Tom, Skyler Tom, Payton Seifert, Saylor Seifert and Easton Seifert; two great great grandchildren, Kinzie Doub and Allison Brown; a brother Kenneth (Gayle) Koeppe and a half brother-in-law, Mike (Irene) Doub. 

She was preceeded in death by her husband Max Doub of 54 years, a son Terry Doub,  great  grandsons Charles Robert Wilder and stillborn T. J. Doub; a brother Earl (Norma) Koeppe; a sister Lola (Ford) Walter;  a sister-in-law Evelyn (Donald) Huff; an infant brother-in-law Loyal Doub;  and a sister-in-law Roma (Robert) Chappelear.

A celebration of Life service will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 18, 2017 at the Newville Church of Christ, 5107 C. R. 75A, Butler, Indiana, with visitation 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service at the church.  D.V. Dillinger will officiate.  Burial will be at the Riverside Cemetery in Newville. 

Visitation will also be 3-8 p.m. Thursday, August 17, 2017 at the Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 Center St. Auburn.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Newville Church of Christ, Lake James Christian Assembly, or Woodburn Christian Children’s Home.

Arrangements are made by the Feller and Clark Funeral Home.
