Harvey A. Penland, 78, passed away Thursday, June 25, 2015, at his home at Smith Farms Manor in Auburn.
He was born Sept. 13, 1936, in Auburn to Garry and Regina (Carmer) Penland.
Harvey was the owner and operator of Penland Auto Parts and the Sunshine Market, both in Auburn.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 178 of Garrett and also the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Garrett.
Surviving are three daughters and a son-in-law, Beth and Jerry Singleton of Auburn, Kim Penland of Leo, and Gay Penland of Fort Wayne; four grandchildren, Justin (Samantha) Penland, Natalie Singleton, Kelly Singleton, and Matthew Singleton; two great-grandchildren, Evan Patrick Penland and Lily Grace Penland; two sisters, Betty Ruhl of Auburn and Stephanie Treadwell of Avon; a brother, Jere Penland of Fort Wayne; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Patrick Penland; a sister, Irene Baughman; and his longtime companion, Judy Campbell.
A gathering of friends and family will take place from 4-8 p.m. Monday, June 29, 2015, at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 Center St., Auburn.
A memorial service will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 11, 2015, at the Feller and Clark Funeral Home, Auburn, with Chaplain Cheryl Schmidt from Heartland Hospice officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Auburn.
