June Rose Brown, age 89, of Kendallville passed away on Monday, January 9, 2017 in her Kendallville home. 

Mrs. Brown was born on June 18, 1927 in St. Joe to George and LuReign (Thomas) Strong.  She graduated from St. Joe High School in 1945.

She married Arvill Buell Brown in St. Joe on October 13, 1944.  He resides in Kendallville.

Mrs. Brown was the co-owner of Brown Consulting Engineers, Incorporated.  She and her husband owned and operated their business for 50 years from 1963 until 2013. 

She was a founding member of the Kendallville Church of Christ.  She served as a forwarding agent for Miyako Christian Mission for 7 years and the Christian Education Association of the Orient, Incorporated for about 25 years.  She also served as a volunteer at Southview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, which is now Hickory Creek Nursing Home in Kendallville for 10 years.  Mrs. Brown was a charter member of the DeKalb County Indiana Genealogical Society and a member and former director of the Strong Family Association of America.  She was a long time cancer survivor and she always made herself and her home available to others.

Her husband; Arvill Brown of Kendallville.

Son and daughter-in-law; Duane and Lynne Brown of Kendallville.

Daughter; LuReign Anne Brown of Kendallville.

Daughter; Anita June Brown of Kendallville.

Nine grandchildren and their spouses; Brian and Christine (Saylor) Brown, Laura and Eric Pentecost, Rachel Brown, Daniel and Trisha (Parks) Brown, David and Larissa (Covert) Brown, Andrew and Ann (Bishop) Brown, Stephen and Nicole (Rehil) Brown, Natalie and Chase Gibson and Emily Brown.

28 great grandchildren.

Sister; Alice Hose of Butler.

Sister; Coral Steckley of Muncie.

Several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother; Lloyd Strong, sister; Blanche Cook, brother; Grant Strong and brother; Harry Strong.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 13, 2017 at 2:00 PM at the Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 South Center Street in Auburn.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 13, 2017 from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at the Feller and Clark Funeral Home in Auburn.

Officiating the funeral service will be Andrew Brown.

Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery in Newville.
