Leilani “Lani” Lung, 58, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2016, at the home of her “aunt mom” Jeanne Burns and “uncle dad” Steve Burns in rural Auburn.

She was born May 27, 1958, in Auburn to the late Nelson L. and Judy A. (Stebing) Lung.

Lani enjoyed working as a clerk for Goodwill Industries of Northeast Indiana Auburn Store where she considered them her second family. She lived with her aunt and uncle, Jeanne and Steve Burns, growing up and their sons, Jeff Burns and John Burns, would call and consider Lani their “almost sister."

Lani is survived by an aunt and her husband, Jeanne A. and Stephen Burns of Auburn; an uncle and his wife, Jerry A. and Rebecca Stebing of Antwerp, Ohio; three brothers, Ron Steckley, John Steckley and Richard Steckley; and several cousins and siblings.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two stillborn children; a sister, Renita Davis; and her animal kids, Kiwi, Gracie, and Zira.

A memorial service will take place at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 Center St., Auburn, with Chaplain Karen Kosberg officiating.

A committal service for Leilani Lung and her sister, Renita Davis, who passed away Oct. 19, 2016, will take place immediately following the service at Roselawn Cemetery in Auburn. They will be going home with their grandparents, George and Ruth Stebing.

The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday prior to the service at the funeral home.
