BUTLER — Nellie Louise Thorne, 71, of Butler died Monday, April 9, 2012, at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne.
Ms. Thorne spent most of her life caring for the elderly in a home health care setting.
She was born February 13, 1941, in Paris, Tennessee, to Milton and Lillie Bell (Bennett ) Thorne.
Surviving are three sisters, Caroline Cannady of Butler, Marilyn Vittonel of Auburn, and Laverne Higsby of Butler; three brothers, Reuben Thorne of Butler, John Thorne of Butler and Dallas Thorne of Benton, Ky,; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Ramona and Craig Zahner of Garrett, Gale Ward of Butler, Joanne Badman of Butler and Leisha and Scott Badman of St. Joe; two sons, Clifford Mooneyhan of Garrett and Valance of Fort Wayne; her companion, Henry Black of Butler; 19 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Robert Thorne; and one great-granddaughter.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 875 S. Wayne St., Waterloo, with Pastor Dale Rabineau officiating. Burial will be in Butler Cemetery in Butler.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Memorials are to the Feller and Clark Funeral Home to help with final expenses.
