Waterloo – Raymond E Staley, 86, died Thursday August 3, 2017 at his home in Waterloo. He was born August 19, 1930 in Wilmington Township in DeKalb County to Ralph and Florence (Myers) Staley. Attending school and growing up in Butler he was a straight A student in his classes but received below average marks in conduct. Raymond was a truck driver for the Auburn Foundry for 44 years before his retirement in January of 1997. He was very proud that he recorded millions of miles driven with no accidents. He was a member of the Butler Eagles and loved to take his family on trips to Mexico, mushroom hunting in Michigan, John Deere tractors and white water rafting on the Gauley River in West Virginia. Surviving are 2 sons and a daughter, Randy (Cheryl) Staley of Auburn, Adam (Karen) Staley of Butler and Cynthia (Michael) Staley-Harter of Leo. There are 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and 2 sisters, Imogene Miller of Auburn and Marilyn Pierce of Butler. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Laverne Eugene Staley who died in infancy. No services are planned at this time. To send condolences visit www.fellerandclark.com
