Richard “Dick” Foster Sr., 77, passed away Tuesday, November 14, 2017, at his home in rural Auburn.
He was born March 31, 1940, in Auburn to the late Raymond and Agnes (Fetter) Foster.
Dick was a 1958 graduate of Auburn High School.
Dick married Mindy M. Bolen on July 23, 1960, in Auburn, and she passed away August 15, 2002.
He was the owner and operator of Dick’s Auto Body Repair in Garrett for the past 43 years. He loved old cars and enjoyed collecting car memorabilia.
Dick was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Auburn.
Surviving are five children and their spouses, Deborah and Chip LaRowe of Auburn, Dianna and George Butts of Auburn, Richard Foster Jr. of Auburn, Michael Foster of Auburn and Chad Foster of Auburn; 10 grandchildren, Joshua (Lindsay) LaRowe, Megan (Cody) Brown, Cody LaRowe, Austin (Andrea) LaRowe, Landon LaRowe, Dylan LaRowe, Lucas LaRowe, Tara (Shane) Fletcher, Richard Foster III and Logan Foster; nine great-grandchildren; and three siblings, Dolores Shoudel of Auburn, Raymond “Red” (Marilyn) Foster of Auburn and Marilyn Conley of Auburn.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; four children, Matthew Foster, Mark Foster, Susan Foster and Lori Foster; a brother, Robert Foster; and two sisters, Catherine Brown and Barbara Palumbo.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 Center St., Auburn, with visitation from 10–11 a.m. prior to the service. Quent Zimmerman will be officiating. Burial will take place in the Auburn Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation also will be from 2–8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be directed to the DeKalb County Humane Shelter, Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana or a charity of the donor’s choice.
