HAMILTON – Robert C. Parker, 70, passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2016, at his home in rural Hamilton. Robert was born June 17, 1946, in Fort Wayne to Harold C. and Frances (Slubowski) Parker. He was a 1964 graduate of Elmhurst High School. He was a veteran of the United States Army where he served during the Vietnam War. Robert was a communications technician for GTE for 35 years, retiring in 1999. He was also a amateur radio operator. He married Sandra Scott on Dec. 11, 1965, in the Cathedral of Immaculate Conception in Fort Wayne, and she survives in Hamilton. Also surviving are four children, Charles Parker of Nashville, Tennessee, Ronald (Julie) Parker of Fort Wayne, Annette (Matt) Jaske of Coloma, Michigan, and Sharon Parker of Auburn; four grandchildren, Marissa Yvinskas of Coloma, Michigan, Allen Yvinskas of Coloma, Michigan, Caren Hernandez of Auburn, and Rhianna Maiorca of Auburn; and five siblings, Raymond (Carla) Parker of Marion, Steve (Linda) Parker of Angola, Jeanette (Tom) McClain of Ohio, Theresa (Greg) Luebke of Fort Wayne, and Sandra (Mike) Wall of Fort Wayne. He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Phillip Parker. A Mass of Christian burial will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 1098 C.R. 39, Waterloo, with Father David Carkenord officiating. Burial will take place in St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery with military honors being conducted by the United States Army and American Legion Post 97 of Auburn. Visitation will be from 10–11 a.m. Saturday prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be directed to the family in care of Sandra Parker.
