Auburn – Samuel Dale Krontz, 86 of Auburn passed away Wednesday January 4, 2017 at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. He was born April 29, 1930 in Butler to Raymond and Minerva (Pearson) Krontz. He was a US Navy Veteran serving on the USS Albany during the Korean Conflict. Sam was an Electrician. He worked at Bohn Aluminum in Butler for 30 plus years retiring in 1992. He was a ministerial servant in the Auburn congregation of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness since February 12, 1956. He married Betty Pope in May of 1951 and she passed away in February 1991. Sam then married Marie (Owens) Howard on June 25, 1992 in Butler and she survives in Auburn. He is also survived by 2 daughters and a son, Connie Brown of Auburn, Danny (Betty) Krontz of Waterloo, Patty (Jim) Brand of Ashley; 2 step daughters, Erlene Yentes of Angola, Virgie (Joe) Wells of Ashley; 16 grandchildren, Carie Day, Stephanie Sweet, Josh Brand, Kamron Brown, Mark Krontz, Julie King, Samuel Krontz, Maranda Miner, Sara Warner, Brandi Krontz, Timothy Krontz, Josh Wells, Jake Wells, Hillary Cope, Kacey Wells Alyssa Wells; 27 Great Grandchildren; a sister Ida Mae (Glen) Hartman, Sister and brother in laws, Laura Cox of KY, Charlene Skidmore of KY, Mary Prater of OH, Treva Griffith of Auburn, Sally Howard of KY, Charlie Owens of KY and David Owens of KY. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Betty, 2 sons, John “Otto” Krontz and David Krontz, 3 grandsons, infant twins Jarod and Jacob Brand and Steven Brown and 4 sisters, Ruth Mahlum, Juanita Crowl, Betty Bolen and Delorse Crowl. Services are 2 PM Sunday January 8, 2017 at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 Center Street, Auburn, IN with Jim Charles of the Auburn Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness officiating. Burial in Waterloo Cemetery, Waterloo. Calling is Saturday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
