Scott M. Bushnell, age 70, of St. Joe died on Sunday, September 10, 2017 of Lewy Body disease. Born in Poughkeepsie, New York on February 12, 1947 to John and Alice Bushnell, he began his career as a sports writer for the Poughkeepsie Journal. He continued as a reporter, sports writer, and news editor in the Connecticut bureau of the Associated Press. He was Director of Media Relations for The Travelers and Lincoln National Corporation. He was an historian & baseball devotee. He authored several books & essays.

He lived in Saint Joe, Indiana for almost 30 years. He was a firm believer in faith and community. He was an active member and Elder of the Auburn Presbyterian Church and a past president of two Indiana Lions Clubs. He was adored by and devoted to his family. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Barbara (Weir), sons, Fitz of Salt Lake City, and Sean (Tasha) of Fort Wayne, two granddaughters, Caitlyn and Madison, both of Fort Wayne and sister Michelle (Coble) of Leonardo, New Jersey.

Visitation will take place on Thursday, September 14, 2017 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 South Center Street in Auburn.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 15, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Auburn Presbyterian Church, 111 West Twelfth Street in Auburn.

Officiating the funeral service will be Pastor Stan Kessler and Pastor John E. Smith.

Burial will take place at the Riverside Cemetery in Belfast, New York at a later date.  

In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the following charities; Alzheimer's Association of Fort Wayne, Auburn Presbyterian Church, and the Eckhart Public Library Renovation Fund.
