AUBURN — Shirley A. Emenhiser, 81, of Auburn died Monday, November 6, 2017, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.

She was born Dec. 3, 1935, in Garrett to the late Myron E. and Esther M. (Deuitch) Whittecar.

Shirley worked as a machine operator for Electric Motors in Garrett for 15 years, retiring in 2005.

She enjoyed reading and scrapbooking, but her true passion in life was her children and grandchildren.

Surviving are four children and their spouses, Jeff and Diana Emenhiser of Garrett, Gene and Sandy Emenhiser of St. Joe, Tina and Scott Thayer of Canton, Michigan, and Deb Emenhiser and Steve Bade of Auburn; 10 grandchildren, Kristie, Joshua, Wesley, Nichole, Robert, Ryan, Emily, Joseph, Justin and Haley; and 18 great-grandchildren, Talon, Haydon, Megan, Grace, Hayley, Kyleigh, Kayla, Jasen, Jaiden, Stella, Kingsley, Miles, Paige, Hope, Noah, Bella, Kelsey and Levi.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Monroe Whittecar, David Whittecar, James Whittecar and Eugene Whittecar; two sisters, Mary Rose Tuttle and Patricia Whittecar; and one great-granddaughter, Angel Karr.

A gathering of friends and family will take place from noon - 2 p.m. Saturday, June 30, at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 Center St., Auburn. 

Private burial will take place in Christian Union Cemetery.
