Shirley Ann Sprague, 83, of Auburn passed away Friday, November 24, 2017, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Garrett.

Shirley was born May 31, 1934, in Sugarcreek, Ohio to the late John L. and Ada (Yoder) Peterman.

She was a graduate of Sugarcreek High School in Sugarcreek, Ohio.

Shirley was a homemaker. She was a member of the Auburn Church of the Nazarene in Auburn.

Shirley married Phillip E. “Skip” Sprague on July 20, 1952, in Dennison, Ohio, and he passed away Feb. 28, 2005.

Surviving are three sons and a daughter, Tony D. (Kathleen) Sprague of Fort Wayne, John F. (Diana) Sprague of Brownsville, Teresa A. Sprague of Auburn, and Paul E. (Trina) Sprague of Columbia City; 11 grandchildren, Alexis (Russell) Davis, Karrie Degraw, Kathy Sprague, Phillip (Stephanie) Sprague, Megan (Billy) Johnston, Sarah Sprague, Beth Sprague, Leah Sprague, Ava Sprague, Josh Sprague, and Ryan Whipp; 11 great grandchildren, Jimmy Degraw, Haley Whipp, Harley Davis, Noah Sprague, Kylee Sprague, Destinee Sprague, Addison Sprague, Wyatt Sprague, Aria Sprague, Lyam Sprague, and Noah Sprague; four brothers and two sisters, Paul (Genny) Peterman of Tuscarawas, Ohio, Kenny (Kay) Peterman of Zephyrhills, Fla., Dorne (Mary) Peterman of Valico, Fla., Robert (Jo) Peterman of Zephyrhills, Fla., Norma Peterman of Goshen, and Marlene (Bob) Lashley of Newcomerstown, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Betty Crites; and a brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Betty Peterman.

A memorial service will take place at 4 p.m. Saturday, December 2, 2017, at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 Center St., Auburn, with the Rev. Doug Thomas officiating.

The family will receive friends from 2 – 4 p.m. Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to the Auburn Church of the Nazarene in Auburn.
