Velma M. Walter, age 91, of Waterloo passed away on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at Maple Park Village in Westfield, Indiana. 

Mrs. Walter was born on April 28, 1926 in Waterloo to Shirley and Lulu (Zerkle) Freed.  She graduated from Waterloo High School in 1944. 

She married Kenneth Walter on August 14, 1948 in Angola.  He preceded her in death in November of 1963. 

Mrs. Walter worked at the Auburn Rubber Company, the Tee Pee restaurant in Auburn and Penguin Point in Auburn before retiring.

She was member of the Bible Baptist Church in Auburn.  

Survivors include: 

Daughter and son-in-law; Cecilia and Dave Peltier of Hicksville, Ohio.

Daughter and son-in-law; Pam and John Rathburn of Helmer.

Son and daughter-in-law; Frank and Betsy Walter of Indianapolis.

Son and daughter-in-law; Jeff and Patsy Walter of Auburn.

10 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; Kenneth, 2 sisters; Patricia Lumpkins and Mildred Rich and 1 brother; Shirley Freed Jr.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 19, 2017 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 noon at the Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 South Center Street in Auburn. 

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, June 19, 2017 at 12:00 noon at the Feller and Clark Funeral Home in Auburn.

Officiating the funeral service will be Rev. Dr. Robert Craig.

Burial will take place at Waterloo Cemetery in Waterloo.

Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
