So sorry to learn of Uncle Bill’s passing. I heard a lot about him when I was a kid — stories about running track and playing minor league baseball.

Thank you Ken, for your condolence posting. Yes, Bill was quite an athlete.

The Milwaukee Braves wanted to sign him to a professional baseball contract. He wore Warren Spahn's jersey when he tried out. He always wished he had accepted their offer. Bill also excelled at basketball in high school.
