Jodi Lynne Warstler, at the age of 63, was called home to be with Jesus on Monday, April 15, 2024. She was born on April 13, 1961 to Wesley and Sharon Warstler in Auburn, Indiana.
As a child Jodi loved to spend time with her siblings Wesley and Lisa. They loved to play outside together, caring for their ponies, making mud pies, and ice skating on the frozen over flooded fields during the wintertime. She had a special relationship with her cousins Cindy, Dawn, and Denise. They were all inseparable, always spending time together and having sleepovers. With her family Jodi always enjoyed going into Fort Wayne every Friday night. They would eat out at their favorite restaurants and share popcorn. A very special memory for Jodi was the time she, her siblings and her cousins all were playing in the barn. They weren't supposed to be there. She fell and broke her arm, getting them all in trouble. A moment in time they all look back and laugh about now.
Jodi was an avid reader, always had a book in her hands. She especially loved reading stories about crime or romance novels. One of her favorite books was Gone With the Wind. She would often frequent the local libraries looking for new stories to read. Jodi also loved history, she often dove into the past. Some of her favorites being topics on WWII, Christianity, the Titanic, the Royal Family, and our own family’s history.
Family meant the most to Jodi. She lived for family gatherings where she would always show up with delicious food for everyone. Christmas, Thanksgiving, and Easter were all some of her favorites to see the whole family share a meal together. Jodi poured so much love into her niece and nephews over the years. Always planning some sort of fun event to the movies, an arcade, and so much more. Jodi made sure everyone had fun and felt special.
She spent a lot of time with her niece Alyssa. They formed a special bond early on, and before anyone knew it became inseparable. Jodi often referred to Alyssa as the daughter of her heart, never having children of her own, mothering was natural for her. For years they would spend time together. Always planning sleepovers with the best snacks and movies, shopping, crafting, and baking together. When Alyssa grew up and became a mother of her own, Jodi was promoted to the role of Nana. A title she wore with beaming pride. She loved spending time with her grandbabies as she referred to them. Jodi loved to bring them gifts, teach them to bake, grab ice cream and go swimming at the local pool. Whatever fun adventures the grandbabies wanted to do, Nana would find a way to make it happen.
Jodi had a true givers heart. She would give anyone she knew the shirt off her back and the last penny in her wallet. To receive a gift from her was the most special thing. Jodi put so much thought and love into the gift for whoever she was giving it to. Gift giving was definitely her love language. She loved effortlessly and unconditionally. She was funny, gentle and genuine. The best friend, daughter, sister, aunt, mother, and Nana.
