Arthur A. Kura, age 90, of Garrett passed away on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Garrett. 

He was born on November 10, 1926 in Chicago to John and Gertrude (Koch) Kura.

Mr. Kura proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1944 to 1954. 

He married Anna M. Johnston on October 30, 1969 in DeKalb County.  She resides in Garrett.

Mr. Kura worked for the B & O Railroad as an engineer for 30 years retiring in 1987.

He was a 50 year member of the Garrett American Legion Post 178 and he was a member of The Church at Garrett. 

Survivors include: 

His wife; Anna Kura of Garrett.

Son and daughter-in-law; Bob and Diane Jordan of Auburn.

Son and daughter-in-law; Dan and Pam Jordan of Garrett.

3 grandchildren; Melissa Shafer, Shawn Jordan and Joseph Jordan.

13 great grandchildren; Lexie Osterhout, Lucas Osterhout, Brooklyn Harris, Brianna Harris, Kaylee Jordan, Ashton Jordan, Danyelle Jordan, Dawson Jordan, Kaleb Jordan, Jayden Jordan, Makena Jordan, Amanda Fogle and Michael Fogle.

Preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter; Jennifer Zwinklis.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at 2:00 PM at The Church at Garrett, 1370 South Randolph Street in Garrett.
