AUBURN — Arthur J. Wilks, 94, of Auburn, passed away Saturday, Dec. 22, 2018, at DeKalb Health in Auburn.
He was born July 10, 1924, in Allen County to the late Samuel A. and Edith (Disler) Wilks.
Arthur was a veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II.
He married Wanda Wappes on Dec. 5, 1947, in Butler Center, and she passed away Aug. 11, 2015.
Arthur was a lifelong farmer and worked for the Dana Corp. in Auburn for 29 years before his retirement.
Surviving are a son, Larry D. (Ginger) Wilks of Auburn; three grandchildren, John (Jamie) Hamman, Kevin Hamman and Jason (Cindy) Hamman; two stepgrandchildren, Matthew Garman and Nicholas (Amanda) Garman; and eight great-grandchildren, Mariah, Dereck and Andrew Hamman, Shawn and Allison Hamman, Brian Kitch, Christopher Hamman and Connor Garman.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; daughter, Mary Lou Hamman; brother, Delbert Wilks; and three sisters, Evelyn Mowery, Audrey Strater and Lillian Hague.
Services will be 3 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, 2018, at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 Center St., Auburn, with Pastor Valarie Kline officiating. Burial will take place in Woodlawn Cemetery in Auburn with military honors conducted by the United States Army and American Legion Post 97 of Auburn.
Visitation will be from 1-3 p.m. Thursday prior to the service at the funeral home.
