Burnis G. Sparkman

Burnis G. Sparkman, age 75, of Waterloo passed away on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at Auburn Village Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing in Auburn. 

He was born on May 10, 1943 in Hueysville, Kentucky to Johnie and Ranie (Shepard) Sparkman. 

Burnis married Oma J. Vanderpool on September 3, 1965 in Kendallville.  Oma resides in Waterloo.

He worked for Cooper Standard in Auburn for 34 years retiring in 1999.  Burnis was a member of the Waterloo Freewill Baptist Church.  He was an avid lover of older cars and enjoyed attending cruise-ins.  He and Oma enjoyed traveling and camping, especially up into Michigan.

Survivors Include:

His wife; Oma Sparkman of Waterloo.

Son and daughter-in-law; Anthony and Leanne Sparkman of St. Joe.

Son and daughter-in-law; Brian and Jennifer Sparkman of Waterloo.

5 grandchildren; Kyle Sparkman, Tyler Sparkman, Chase Sparkman, A.J. Sparkman and Alex Sparkman.

Brother and sister-in-law; Paul and Sharon Sparkman of Waterloo.

Sister and brother-in-law; Dulcine and Robert Petty of Angola.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers; Dean Sparkman and Johnie Sparkman Jr.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 875 South Wayne Street in Waterloo. 

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the Feller and Clark Funeral Home in Waterloo.

Officiating the funeral service will be Pastor Ron Stambaugh of the Waterloo Freewill Baptist Church.

Burial will take place at the Waterloo Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the donor’s choice.
