Carnie Camp Obituary

Carnie W. Camp, age 72, of Auburn passed away on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at his Auburn home.

He was born in Waterloo on May 5, 1946 to Rolland and Pauline (Meyers) Camp.  Carnie honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps from during the Vietnam War from 1966 until 1969. 

He married his first wife Lorraine “Lorrie” Burnham on April 18, 1970.  She preceded him in death on April 18, 2003.  He married Deborah A. Cook on October 29, 2005 in Kendallville.  She resides in Auburn.

Carnie worked as an auto body technician for several different body shops from 1963 until 1986, when he became self-employed, retiring in 2017.

He was a member of the Auburn American Legion Post 97, where he also was a member of their military honor guard.  He was also a member of the Auburn Moose Lodge, Garrett Eagles, Garrett VFW and the Shifters Car Club in Auburn.  Carnie raced go karts in his younger years.  He was also a little league baseball and basketball coach for several years and he was an avid antique car enthusiast.

Survivors Include:

His wife; Deborah Camp of Auburn.

Son and daughter-in-law; Addam and Sabrina Camp of Auburn.

Step daughter and son-in-law; Amanda and Jared Jeppson of Hawaii.

Daughter-in-law; Kathy Camp of Waterloo.

4 grandchildren; Cody and Jordan Camp, Cordel Camp, Gage Camp and Austin Camp.

3 great grandchildren; Aaliyah Camp, Breyson Camp and Carsynn Camp.

2 step grandchildren; Savanah Jeppson and Logan Jeppson.

Brother and sister-in-law; Wilbur and Jean Camp of Spencerville.

Sister; Janice Hoyer of Auburn.

Sister; Norma Wilmont of Arizona.

Brother and sister-in-law; Ronald and Karen Camp of Auburn.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one son Sean Camp who passed away in November of 2013.

A gathering of friends will be held on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 from 1:00 to 4:00 PM at the Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 South Center Street in Auburn.

Military honors will take place at 4:00 PM on Wednesday May 16, 2018 at the Feller and Clark Funeral Home in Auburn.  There will be no funeral services.
