Charles E. Albertson, age 88, of Garrett passed away on Sunday, October 30, 2016 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Garrett. 
Mr. Albertson was born on November 21, 1927 in Roanoke to Harold and Vava (Pace) Albertson.

He married Phyllis Baker on May 11, 1996 in Auburn.  She resides in Garrett.

Mr. Albertson honorably served his country in the United States Navy during WWII. 

He worked for 33 years as an engineer at International Harvester in Fort Wayne. 

Mr. Albertson was a 50 plus year member of the Garrett Masonic Lodge, the Mizpah Shrine in Fort Wayne and the Garrett American Legion.  Charles enjoyed traveling, fishing, hunting and watching IU basketball.

Survivors include: 

His wife; Phyllis Albertson of Garrett.

Daughter and son-in-law; Kay and David Murrell of Springfield, Ohio.

Daughter and son-in-law; Ruthann and Jerry Seese of Peoria, Arizona.

Daughter and son-in-law; Catherine and Bill Christie of Fort Wayne.

Daughter and son-in-law; Linda and Kenneth Dague of Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Step daughter and son-in-law; Cindy and Ray Kelham of Garrett.

Step daughter; Mary Baker of Garrett.

Step daughter and son-in-law; Beth and Shawn Rose of Auburn.

5 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, 9 step grandchildren, 22 step great grandchildren and 1 step great great grandchild.

Brother; Richard Albertson of Huntington.

Sister and brother-in-law; Veda and Virgil Smith of Riverton, Wyoming.

Many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, step daughter; Carol Shears and a sister; Mary Petre.

There will be no visitation or services.

Memorials may be directed to Miller’s Merry Manor, 1367 South Randolph Street, Garrett, Indiana 46738 and the Shriner’s Hospital for Children, Office of Development, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, Florida 33607.
