Claude J. Damron, 83, died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2018, at his home in Angola.
Mr. Damron retired from RR Donnelley in Angola where he worked as a machine operator. He was a veteran of the United States Army where he served during the Korean War. He was a former member of the Metz Volunteer Fire Department and was a member of the Three Rivers CB Club.
He was born Feb. 23, 1935, in Prestonsburg, Kentucky, to the late Wayne and Emma (Layne) Damron.
He married Opal Marie Hopson July 10, 1953, in Banner, Kentucky, and she died Jan. 31, 1997.
Surviving are five children, Robert Damron of Pleasant Lake, Claudia (Jeff) Adams of Defiance, Ohio, John (Ann) Damron of Angola, Charles Damron of White Pigeon, Michigan, and Irene (Jeff) LaBrosse of Angola; 14 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and four siblings, Lowell (Mildred) Damron of Auburn, Avonell (Eddie) Patrick of Tram, Kentucky, Bobby (Ameline) Damron of Dayton, Ohio, and Jimmy Damron of Topeka.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son, Jerry Damron; two granddaughters; and a sister-in-law, Mary Damron.
Services will be 7 p.m. Wednesday at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 875 S. Wayne St., Waterloo, with Jeff Alexander officiating. Private family burial will take place in Pleasant Lake Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5–7 p.m. Wednesday prior to the service at the funeral home.
