Clyde Handshoe

Clyde Handshoe, 67, passed from this life on Friday, Sept. 20, 2019, at home surrounded by his family.

Clyde was born on Dec. 11, 1951, in Garrett, Indiana to John and Sarah (Shepherd) Handshoe. He graduated from Garrett High School in 1970 and served our country in the United States Air Force from 1971-77.

He married Nancy (Bailey) Handshoe on June 7, 1983, in Clintwood, Virginia, and she survives.

He retired from Parkenson Electronics, Fort Wayne, in 1995 when his health prevented him from working.

Along with his wife, he is survived by two sons: Nick (Michelle) Handshoe of Garrett, Chris Milks of Columbus, Ohio, two daughters: Catina (David) LaMotte, Stephanie (Chad) Werkheiser, both of Garrett and his loving canine companion, Sissy. Six grandchildren: Kylan (Tori) LaMotte of Garrett, Kirsten (Isaiah) Allman, of Garrett, Jacob (Alex) LaMotte of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Carter LaMotte, Baylee Werkheiser, and Landen Werkheiser, all of Garrett and one great-grandson, Kolsen David LaMotte. Sister Alice Martin of Garrett, four brothers: Edgil (Lucy) Handshoe of Baggs, Wyoming, Carl (Shirley) Handshoe of Fort Wayne, Delmar (Sandra) Handshoe of Garrett, Vernis (Kayota) Handshoe of Butler and one sister-in-law Betty Handshoe of Hueysville, Kentucky.

Clyde was preceded in death by his parents, John and Sarah Handshoe, a brother Wilkie Handshoe, an infant sister Wanda Lea Handshoe and one brother-in-law Robert Bailey.

Clyde loved the outdoors, fishing and hunting, but most of all loved his God and his family.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2019, with calling one hour prior from 10-11 a.m. at Feller and Clark Funeral Home 875 S. Wayne St., Waterloo, Indiana with Pastor Ron Stambaugh officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Auburn, Indiana. Military Honors will be conducted by United States Air Force and Auburn American Legion Post 97.

Calling hours will be Monday, Sept. 23, 2019 from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
