Danny Ray Krontz, 65, of Waterloo, passed away Monday, Sept. 24, 2018, at Parkview Hospital Randallia in Fort Wayne.
He was born Sept. 14, 1953, in Auburn to the late Sam and Betty (Pope) Krontz.
Danny was a 1971 graduate of DeKalb High School and served in the Army National Guard.
He married Betty A. “Peanut” Maugherman on June 28, 1979, in Auburn, and she survives in Waterloo.
Danny worked for Hendrickson in Kendallville before retiring after more than 30 years of service.
He was a member of the Agape Assembly of God in Waterloo.
Danny enjoyed fishing, playing pool, mushroom hunting and spending time with his wife, children and his entire family, but what he loved most was spoiling his two granddaughters, Alisa and Allisyn.
Also surviving are three children, Mark Krontz of Auburn, Sara (Drew) Warner of Auburn, and Tim Krontz of Waterloo; two grandchildren, Alisa Krontz and Allisyn Warner; two sisters, Connie Brown of Auburn, and Patty (Jim) Brand of Waterloo; stepmother, Marie Krontz; two stepsisters, Erlene Yentes of Auburn and Virgie (Joe) Wells of Corunna; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, John “Otto” Krontz and David Krontz.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28, at Agape Assembly of God, 960 W. Lincoln St., Waterloo, with visitation from noon-2 p.m. Friday prior to the service at the church. Pastor Thomas Neddersen will be officiating.
Visitation also will be 2-6 p.m. Thursday at the church.
