Dean Malcolm Jewell, 84, of Auburn passed away Wednesday, August 8, 2018, at Betz Nursing Home in Auburn.
Dean was born August 26, 1933, in Hadley, Michigan to the late Earl Weeks and Irma Winnifred (Chatfield) Jewell. He is a 1952 graduate of Lapeer High School in Lapeer, Michigan.
He married Carol M. Brower on May 9, 1953, in Metamora, Michigan, and she survives in Auburn.
Dean was a farmer and also owned and operated Tri County John Deere in Marlette, Michigan for 38 years, retiring in 1995.
He was a member of the Auburn Alliance Church. He was a lifetime member of The Gideons International.
Also surviving are four children and their spouses, Randal S. and Janice Jewell of Prince Edward Island, Canada, Michelle F. and Bruce Beyler of Elkhart, Sylvia L. and Joe Veal of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Hope A. and Mike Hills of Bangor, Michigan; 11 grandchildren, Derreck Jewell, Devin Jewell, Dori Jewell, Johnita Nelson, Allison Behensky, Jared Veal, Krista Looman, Josh Veal, Micaela Weir, Josephine Sardina and Salvatore Sardina; eight great grandchildren; and a sister and brother-in-law, Janellen and Duane Calkins of Parker, Colorado.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Auburn Alliance Church, 805 Old Brick Rd., Auburn, with visitation from 10 – 11 a.m. Friday prior to the service at the church. Pastor Derreck Jewell and Pastor Timothy Ramsour will be officiating.
Visitation also will be from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Thursday at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 Center St., Auburn.
Burial will take place at 1:00 PM Monday at Greenwood Cemetery, Hadley Township, Michigan.
