Garrett – Donnie Ray Bryant, 79 of Garrett died Thursday January 4, 2018 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. He was born July 19, 1938 in Whitesburg, KY to Arthur and Melvina (Whitaker) Bryant. He worked at Copper Tire and Rubber in Auburn then retired from Atlas Crank Shaft in Fostoria, OH. He was a member of First Church of Christ in Garrett and the Garrett American Legion. He loved to listen to, teach and play Bluegrass music. It wasn’t just his passion but a lifestyle. Donnie married Margie E Webb on April 1, 1960 in Whitesburg, KY and she survives in Garrett. He is also survived by 2 sons and a daughter, Danny R (Lisa) Bryant of Fostoria, OH, Lisa L (Rick) Swartz of Garrett and Thomas R Bryant of Garrett; A daughter in law, Kelly Bryant of Rome City; a brother and 2 sisters, Dorla Whitaker, Glenora Eldridge and Jack Bryant and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Mikel E Bryant, a grandson, Michael T Bryant and 10 brothers and sisters. Services are 2 PM Monday, January 8, 2018 at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 Center Street, Auburn, IN with Brother Bud Owen officiating. Burial will follow in Christian Union Cemetery, Garrett.
