Earl H Auld

Avilla – Earl H Auld, 84 of Avilla passed away Saturday July 14, 2018 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Garrett. He was born in Allen County on July 31, 1933 to Denny and Hattie Auld. Earl was a U.S Army Veteran and a Lifetime Dairy Farmer. He attended Cedar Lake Church of the Brethren and was a former Board of Directors member of Allen Dairy. He married Jean Zorger on October 1, 1953 in Dunfee, IN and she survives. Also surviving is a daughter and son in law, Linda and Jeff Gurtner of Waterloo and a son and daughter in law, Larry and Pam Auld of Avilla; 4 grandchildren, Nikki (Mike) Oberlin, Ashley (Adam) McCartney, Chad (Christa) Griffith and Jared Auld; 8 great grandchildren, Maddie, Dylan and Macy Oberlin, Brock, Brennon, Brody and Brant McCartney and Logan Griffith; 5 siblings, Edith (Merrill) Hackett, Gordon (Judy) Auld, Doris (Gene) Bender, Alma (Bob) Fritz and Warren (Gloria) Auld all of Fort Wayne; Sisters in Law and brother in law, Pat Auld of Fort Wayne and Keith and Donna Zorger of Spencerville. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Lee Auld, daughter, Lynn Griffith, grandson Larry Griffith, Brother, Clyde Auld and a sister, Vera Fairchild. Services will be 11 AM Thursday July 19, 2018 at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 Center Street, Auburn with Rev Duane Grady officiating. Calling is Wednesday from 2 to 7 PM at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service in Christian Union Cemetery, Garrett. Preferred memorials are to the Cedar Lake Church of the Brethren or DeKalb Health Home Care and Hospice.
