Edmond L. “Ed” Schulthess Sr., 83, of Angola, passed away Saturday, August 4, 2018, at Lakeland Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation in Angola.
He was born September 8, 1934, in Garrett to the late Veron G. and Elzie M. (Webb) Schulthess.
Ed was a veteran of the United States Navy.
He married Judith D. Holz on June 10, 1960, in Chicago, Illinois, and she survives in Angola.
Ed worked for several years as a cook for the First National Bank of Chicago and United Airlines based out of Chicago. He then worked for 24 years as a pest exterminator for International Pest Control in Chicago before moving to the Angola area and working for 11 years at Dana/ Handy & Harman, retiring in 1997.
He was a 40-year member of the Loyal Order of Moose in Chicago.
Also surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Edmond L. Schulthess Jr. and Linda Schulthess of Chicago, Illinois, and Kenneth J. and Linda Schulthess of Ashley; sister Lela G. McArdle of Salesville, Arkansas; two grandchildren, Lauren Schulthess and Edmond Schulthess; three step-grandchildren, Jamie Deller, Robbie Deller and Austin Berry; six step-great-grandchildren; and his dog and companion, Molly.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 875 S. Wayne St., Waterloo, with Pastor Mike Hesterman officiating. Burial will take place in Christian Union Cemetery in rural Garrett.
Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday prior to the service at the funeral home.
