Elbert D. Sumner, age 47, of Garrett passed away on June 30, 2018 at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne.

Elbert was born in Garrett on December 21, 1970 to Elbert and Beulah (Combs) Sumner.

Elbert enjoyed watching sports. His favorite teams were the New York Mets, the Philadelphia 76’s and the Dallas Cowboys. He also enjoyed watching wrestling and playing golf every chance that he got.

Survivors Include:

His mother; Beulah Sumner of Garrett.

Brother; Michael Sumner of Garrett.

Brother and sister-in-law; Johnny and Lisa Sumner of Auburn.

Sister; Carrie Sumner of Garrett.

Nephew; Johnny Sumner Jr. of Auburn.

Fur baby; Bear.

Best friends; Don Wicker and Shane Butler.

He was preceded in death by his father; Elbert Sumner and his fur babies; Snowball and Haley.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
