Eldon Menges Obituary

Eldon D. Menges, age 79, of rural Corunna passed away on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at his home.

He was born in Auburn on February 14, 1939 to Dale and Bernice (Dove) Menges.  He was a 1957 graduate of Garrett High School. 

Eldon honorably served his country in the United States Army from September of 1964 until August of 1966.

He married Margaret S. Brumbaugh on March 16, 1968 at the Cedar Creek Church of the Brethren in Garrett.  She resides in rural Corunna.

Eldon was a self-employed farmer and he also picked up canned milk from farmers until 1973.  He then worked for Hayden Honda in Kendallville from 1971 until 2000.  In 2000 he was moved to Hayden Rental to manage that side of the business until he retired in 2010. 

He was a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge, a member of the Kendallville American Legion Post 86 and a lifetime member of the American Motorcycle Association.  Eldon was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and he will be greatly missed.    

Survivors Include:

His wife of 50 years; Margaret Menges of Corunna.

Daughter and son-in-law; Cherry and John Weiland of Roanoke.

Son; Dale Menges of Auburn.

Two grandchildren; Justin Weiland and Drew Weiland.

Two step-granddaughters; Brittney and Sam Berghammer and Shelby Weiland.

Sister; Jeanne Shaw of Auburn.

Several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law; Tom Shaw.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 from 11:00 to 2:00 PM at the Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 875 South Wayne Street in Waterloo.

A Masonic Service will be held at the beginning of the visitation at 11:00 AM.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, June, 19 2018 at the Feller and Clark Funeral Home in Waterloo.

Officiating the funeral service will be Pastor Doug Keenan.

Burial with military honors will take place in Cedar Creek Cemetery in Garrett.

Memorial donations may be directed to the Kendallville American Legion Post 86, 322 South Main Street, Kendallville, Indiana 46755.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Feller and Clark Funeral Home in Waterloo.
