Fort Wayne – Elizabeth T Garver, 93, died Friday, December 7, 2018, at Park Place Senior Living in Fort Wayne.
She was born May 15, 1925 in Youngstown, Ohio to Walter H. and Grace E. (McMillan) Thomas.
Beth was a homemaker and was very active at the Woodworth Church of the Brethren where she and her husband were lifetime Deacons. She also was treasurer for Youngstown’s Church Women United for 9 years.
She was a foster parent for newborns during the 1970’s and traveled with her husband throughout the United States helping with disaster relief.
Beth enjoyed sewing, quilting, cards with friends and singing.
She married her husband of 70 years, Kenneth K Garver, on October 1, 1944, in the Woodworth Church of the Brethren in Poland, Ohio, and he died April 11, 2015.
She is survived by a son and two daughters, Karen E. (Douglas) Rohrer of Bowling Green, KY, B. Lynn (David) Shipe of Auburn, IN and Stanley N. (Carolyn Doe) Garver of Cary, NC; seven grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; and a sister, B. Jane Williams.
A memorial service will be held in early July at the Woodworth Church of the Brethren with burial in Zion Hill Cemetery in Columbiana, Ohio.
