Ethel “Chubby” Duesler, 91, of Auburn passed away Saturday, January 6, 2018, at the Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home in Fort Wayne.

She was born July 3, 1926, in Bismarck, North Dakota the daughter of the late John and Alice Polite.

Chubby attended school in Archbold, Ohio. She entered nurses training in 1944 and graduated in 1947. Chubby worked as a registered nurse for 45 years in various places. She worked at Sauder’s Hospital, Sanders Hospital and DeKalb Memorial Hospital in Auburn. She also worked at Rose De Lima Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada for 18 years.

She married Donald Duesler on November 27, 1947. He passed away January 3, 2003.

Surviving are two granddaughters, Kimberly Seiss of Fort Wayne and Lindsay Hammond of Las Vegas, Nevada; grandson, Christopher Duesler of Las Vegas, Nevada; six great grandchildren, Taylor Seiss of Fort Wayne, Tyson Seiss of Fort Wayne, Peyton Hammond of Las Vegas, Nevada, Jackson Hammond of Las Vegas, Nevada, Thomas Duesler of Las Vegas, Nevada and Henry Duesler of Las Vegas, Nevada; brother-in-law, Richard Dove of Butler; special nieces, Catherine (Dove) Aldrich of Corunna and Candace (Dove) Benward of Nashville, Tennessee; and several great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three brothers; two children, Vicki Jean Baker and Thomas Duesler; sister-in-law, Beverly Dove; and two nephews, Richard A. Dove and Ronald Dove.

Burial will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery in Auburn. There will be no visitation or services conducted.
