Quincy, Michigan – Fredia Mae Shepherd Alton, 77, of Quincy, Michigan passed away Saturday, December 29, 2018, in Coldwater, Michigan.
She was born March 27, 1941, in Gunlock, Kentucky to Harlan and Kate (Neeley) Shepherd.
Fredia married Ronald T. “Terry” Alton on March 23, 1973, in Royalton, Kentucky, and he survives in Quincy, Michigan.
Mrs. Alton was a homemaker.
She was a Church of Christ member and loved her church. She loved nature, gardening, fishing and enjoyed spending time in Kentucky.
Also surviving are seven siblings, Bobbie (Bob) Boyd of Morrow, Ohio, Charity Shepherd of Hueysville, Kentucky, Melvia Shepherd of Hueysville, Kentucky, Chandler (Illant) Shepherd of Silver Lake, Indiana, Jay Shepherd of Gunlock, Kentucky, Delmer (Lois) Shepherd of Hueysville, Kentucky, and Glen (Lorretta) Shepherd of Hueysville, Kentucky; two sisters-in-law, Odelia Shepherd of Angola, Indiana and Anita Bostrom of Texas; three brothers-in-law, Bob Alton of Ohio, Jack Alton of Arizona and Jim Alton of Michigan; and her 11 cats and one dog.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Rose L. Whitaker; brother, Farley Shepherd; and brothers-in-law, Frank Shepherd, Lowell Shepherd, Frank Alton and Kenny Alton.
Service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Brushy Fork Baptist Church, Gunlock, Kentucky, with Chester Ray Varney officiating. Burial will take place at Shepherd Cemetery in Gunlock, Kentucky.
Visitation will be from 10 – 11 a.m. Friday prior to the service at the church.
