Gary A. Dickerson, 75, of Auburn passed away Sunday, October 15, 2017, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.

Gary was born Dec. 6, 1941, in Parsons, Kansas, to the late Vernon and Ruth (Witt) Dickerson

He was a veteran of the United States Army.

Gary worked as the materials manager for the Dana Corp. in Fort Wayne, retiring after 41 years of service.

He married Catherine (Moore) on Feb. 17, 1990, in Garrett and she survives in Auburn.

Gary was a member of the First Church of Christ in Garrett.

He was a member, Past Commander and former head of the honor guard at the Garrett American Legion Post 178. He was also a member of the Auburn Elks.

Gary’s life was his grandchildren. Whether it was a sporting event or a dance competition, he was there in full support.

Also surviving are five children, Troy and Bobbi Dickerson of Fort Wayne, Todd and Kathryn Sattison of Garrett, Adam and Lisa Sattison of Columbia City, Tad and Tonya Dickerson and Lesli and Jeff Cox; five grandchildren, Kayla Dickerson, Tyler Dickerson, Noah Sattison, Kennedy Sattison and Kendyl Sattison; and seven siblings, Judith and Bob Fohr of Calif., Jerry and Mary Dickerson of Washington, Linda and John Melford of Calif., Terry and Sheryl Dickerson of Calif., Sandy Midwood of Oregon, Larry and Sharon Dickerson of Oregon and Rebecca Dickerson of Oregon.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 20, 2017, at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 Center St., Auburn.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Garrett High School Athletic Department or the Leo High School Athletic Department.
