Ivan E. Buckmaster

Ivan E. Buckmaster, age 89, of Ashley passed away on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 with his family by his side.

He was born in Putnam County, Ohio on February 26, 1929 to Earl and Ashley (Kirkendall) Buckmaster.  He graduated in 1947 from Continental High School in Continental, Ohio.  He then attended Bluffton College in Bluffton, Ohio.

Ivan married Ruby B. Horner on April 17, 1949 in Blue Creek, Ohio.  She resides in Ashley.

He has been a DeKalb County farmer since 1953.  Ivan sold Van Dale farm equipment and Madison Silos for several years.  He then established and operated Ivan Buckmaster and Sons Farming and Feed Equipment serving a region through the tristate area. 

He was an active member of the United Brethren Church in Hudson.  He enjoyed golfing and traveling.  He and Ruby spent several winters in Arcadia, Florida.  Ivan was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.  He has spent the last several years lovingly caring for his wife’s needs as she battled health issues.

Son and daughter-in-law; Dennis and Corinne Buckmaster of Rossville, Indiana.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother; D. Paul Buckmaster and one sister; A. Margine Perky. 

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 27, 2018 from 2:00 to 7:00 PM at the Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 875 South Wayne Street in Waterloo.  Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the funeral service on Saturday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the church.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the United Brethren Church, 516 North Main Street in Hudson. 

Officiating the funeral service will be Pastor Craig Burkholder.

Burial will take place at Fairfield Cemetery in Corunna.
