Hamilton – Jane A “Downtown” Brown, 87 of Hamilton died Saturday June 3, 2017 at Vibra Hospital in Fort Wayne. She was born in Ashley on February 18, 1930 to Edward and Ruth (Bowman) Bowers. She was Co-Owner, with her husband and son, of L.E. & Bret Brown Insurance Agency in Waterloo for many years. She was a member of the Hamilton Lions Club and a former member of the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce, Waterloo Chamber of Commerce, Hamilton Lake Association and Hamilton Fish and Game Club. Jane married Lawrence E. “Bud” Brown on October 14, 1949 in Waterloo and he passed away on March 26, 1996. She is survived by a son and daughter in law, Bret and Becky Brown of Hamilton; 2 daughters and son in laws, Amy and Jeff Griffin of Indianapolis and Marie and Gerry Longenbaugh of Pendleton, IN; there are 10 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter and son in law, Mary and Ron Miller, a grandson Brandon Brown, a granddaughter Lori Curry, and 3 brothers, Vernon Bowers, Raymond Bowers and Lloyd Layton Bowers. As per Janes wishes the family will receive friends and host a Celebration of Life gathering from 2 to 5 PM Sunday June 11, 2017 at the Hamilton Fish and Game Club in Hamilton. The Hamilton Lions Club will conduct their memorial service rites at 4:30 PM Sunday at the fish and game club. Preferred memorials are to the Hamilton Lions Club.
