Janice Ann (Funk) Skaggs

Janice Ann Skaggs, age 78, of Waterloo passed away on Monday, November 26, 2018 surrounded by her family at her daughter’s home in Auburn. 

Mrs. Skaggs was born on July 24, 1940 in Waterloo to Paul and Savannah (Heffley) Funk. 

She married Marvin Skaggs on June 20, 1961 in Ashley.  He preceded her in death on April 1, 1985.

Mrs. Skaggs was a homemaker and a caretaker for not only her family but she also cared for her mother later in life.  She also worked at the McDonalds restaurant in Angola for several years retiring in 2010. 

Janice was very active in her church over the years and loved volunteering.  She sang in the choir and taught Sunday School.  She was a member of the Ashley Church of God and then she attended the Victory Barn in Edgerton, Ohio.

Survivors Include:

Daughter and son-in-law; Darla and Alvin Botset of Auburn.

Son; Kyle Skaggs of Auburn.

2 grandchildren; Rae Botset and Cayden Skaggs.

Brother-in-law; J.W. Dees of Georgia.

Sister-in-law; Jo Funk of Georgia.

Sister-in-law; Lillis Ritchie of Rome City.

Brother-in-law; Gene Skaggs of Rome City.

Sister-in-law; Barbara Carson of Kendallville.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; Marvin Skaggs, brother; Dayton Funk and sister; Bernita Dees.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 29, 2018 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 South Center Street in Auburn.    

Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 30, 2018 at 2:00 PM at the Feller and Clark Funeral Home in Auburn.  

Officiating the funeral service will be Pastor Bill Lyne.

Burial will take place at the Waterloo Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to Heartland Hospice.
