Joanne L. Fitch, 95, of Auburn, passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2019, at Presence Sacred Heart Home in Avilla.
Joanne was born near Auburn, Indiana, March 11, 1924, to Joe and Ethel Miller. They are deceased.
She married James Fitch on Dec. 5, 1943, and he survives. They celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary in December 2018.
Also surviving are a son, James Jr. and wife, Patricia, of Fort Wayne, a son, Mark and wife, Melodye, of Tucson, Arizona; grandsons, David Fitch and wife, Jessica, Christopher and wife, Rachel, all of Fort Wayne, Michael Fitch and wife, Stephanie, of Madison, Wisconsin, Morgan Fitch and wife, Jessica, of Fishers; and granddaughter, Mary Katherine Fitch, of Huntertown; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Two sisters, Helen Huntsman, Lela Rathert; three brothers, Donald Miller, Keith Miller, David Miller; and a great-grandson preceded her in death.
She was a member of Auburn Presbyterian Church.
Joanne was an example of the Greatest Generation. She was a mentor to her children, grandchildren and those around her. Her wisdom, strength, caring, work ethic, and sharing will be truly missed.
Services will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, May 25, 2019, at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 Center St., Auburn, with Chaplain Tom Novy officiating.
Burial will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery in Auburn at a later date.
Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m., Saturday, May 25, 2019, prior to the service at the funeral home.
