So sorry for your loss. I only knew Joe for about three years but enjoyed his good nature and humor. We will miss him at lunch time at CJ's.

My condolences to Connie, Kyle, and all the family. I graduated with Joe and shared a class or two in high school. He loved to laugh and make everyone laugh. We reconnected briefly a few years back, and it was like time had stood still. Joe will be missed by so many of us.

"Onward Christian Soldier, Heaven Bound....."
Nature; green blooming trees, grass and
things,
With flowers, and lots of weeds on the
ground,
And the soft rain comes to us, and brings.....
Rapture of growth of God's nature again,
Darkness comes so often, let there be light
Childhood with parent's helping Joe gain;
His place in a family with future insight......
Ready and willing in school, sports and all,
Interested in sports, possible a career too,
Someday as a teen, Joe became envolved,
stood tall.....
Trustworthy and a GHS athlete to prove
In College that he made his plans to become
a teacher, dream came true at last,
A son, husband to Connie, and Dad to Kyle,
friend to many, always in the grove,
Nature came, gone into the past......
So, we say good-bye, will see someday,
Open door to a new beginning, at peace now,
Loved by family-friendly yesterday, tomorrow
and today,
Darkness is always light, with his parent's
and how.....
I remember them like it was yesterday,
Everyone has a memory of Joe,
Ready to share during this last day,
He was full of life, enriched ours we know......
Everyday there will be an empty chair,
And an understanding of his death,
Value your time with loved one, show you
care,
Everlasting journey from earth.....
Nature still full of footage we see and
Better ourselves, remember Joe and others,
Oh we'll miss Joe's smile, laughter, his truth
to understand,
Unconditional love for mankind; of his sister's
and brother's.......
Never forgotten, we'll see Joe someday,
Day after day from today.....

In friendship of tribute.

Always thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Your Friend;
Mary Rose (De Paolo) Kimmel
And David Lee.

To Joe Mahnesmith's wife, son and all family members:

Please know that Joe made a very positive impression an all that he encountered (in the classroom, on the athletic floor/field as well as in the community). My pleasure of knowing Joe began when he was teaching and coaching in Fort Wayne - more specifically at Shawnee Middle School and Northrop High School where he assisted us in the Football Program. Our prayers are with you and we want you to know that Joe will always be a part of our memories. God Speed to all...

Deepest sympathies to Connie, Kyle and extended family as you mourn. Just picturing Mr. Mahnesmith and his ornery smile now, many fond memories from long ago. We imagine he's already at work stirring up some fun in heaven! May each day be filled with more happy memories and less sadness for each of you. God bless.

Both Kathleen and I were classmates of Joe and we both were very saddened
to learn of Joe's passing. We understand he had faced some difficult medical/
health challenges over the past few years. Our deepest heartfelt sympathies we
both wish to extend to Connie and their children. Living away from Garrett and
out of contact we both missed the contact of our beloved classmates. Joe was
ALWAYS such a fun guy to be with and we cherish the memories of those many
times we spent with him many years ago. God bless Joe and may he rest in
peace. He will not soon be forgotten in our minds and the minds of many others.
