LeAnna May (Freeze) Friend

LeAnna May Friend, age 91, of Auburn passed away on Friday, October 12, 2018 at Betz Nursing Home in Auburn. 

Mrs. Friend was born on April 7, 1927 in Garrett to John and Florence (Hite) Freeze. 

She married Donald E. Friend on April 20, 1947 in Garrett.  Don preceded her in death on April 13, 2014.

Mrs. Friend was a homemaker.  She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Auburn serving as the Women’s Circle chairman for many years.  She was also a member of the Eastern Star in Spencerville and the Jackson Township Homemakers Club for 70 years.

Survivors Include:

Son and daughter-in-law; Michael and Maureen Friend of Fort Wayne.

Son and daughter-in-law; Jerry and Lori Friend of Auburn.

9 grandchildren and their spouses; Laura Troop, Eric and Jenna Troop, Katie and Dan Richardville, Julie and Matt Gadlage, Phil Friend, Adam and Bria Friend, Grant and Tiffany Friend, David and Erin Friend and Jeff and Sara Friend.

11 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; Don, one son; Randall, two daughters; Kathleen Friend and Cynthia Troop, two brothers; John Freeze and Ronald Freeze and 4 sisters; Ruth Freeze, Alice Freeze, Barbara Brown and Lois Best.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 15, 2018 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at the Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 South Center Street in Auburn.  An Eastern Star service will be held at the end of visitation at 7:00 PM.  Additional visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service at the church from 10:00 to 11:00.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at 11:00 AM at First United Methodist Church, 1203 East Seventh Street in Auburn.  

Officiating the funeral service will be Rev. Dr. Jim Farrer of the First United Methodist Church of Auburn.

Burial will take place at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Auburn.
