HICKSVILLE, Ohio — M. Maxine Kimmel, 85, of Hicksville, Ohio, died Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2017, at Hickory Creek at Hicksville Nursing Home.

Mrs. Kimmel worked alongside her husband, Lavern, on their family farm. She also was a homemaker and the bookkeeper for the farm.

She was a member of the Newville Church of Christ. She also was an active member and volunteer for the 4-H.

She was born Oct. 26, 1931, in Auburn to the late Tom and Clara (Bash) Brunson.

She married Clifford L. “Lavern” Kimmel on December 1, 1950, in Newville, and he died June 10, 2016.

Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Marsha Ann and Ernie Hurni of Hicksville, Ohio; a son and daughter-in-law, Rick Lee and Kenda Kimmel of Spencerville; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Charlene Brunson of Fort Wayne.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Lavone Brunson; and two sisters, Lois Maxey and Violet Patee.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Newville Church of Christ, 5107 C.R. 75A, Butler, with visitation from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service at the church. D.V. Dillinger will officiate. Burial will take place in Riverview Cemetery in Newville.

Visitation also will be from 3-8 p.m. Friday at the Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 Center St., Auburn.
