Fort Wayne – Marilyn F. “Bun” Mettert, 77, died Wednesday January 8, 2020 at her home in Fort Wayne. She was born September 3, 1942 in Fort Wayne to Raymond R. and Jeanette V. (Wiech) Brandt. She was a 1959 graduate of Elmhurst High School. Marilyn was secretary for 16 years at Park Forest Church of God in Fort Wayne. She was a member of County Line Church of God. She loved to fish and golf. She enjoyed playing with the girl’s in the Arlington Park Golf Course Women’s League. She was active with her Missionary Group, Women of the Church of God. She enjoyed baking and her specialty was chocolate chip cookies. This recipe was loved by everyone and has been passed down to her children and will be passed down to many generations to come. Her memory will always be cherished when baking and eating these cookies. She married William L. “Bill” Mettert on December 21, 1959 in Fort Wayne and he survives. She is also survived by 3 sons and 2 daughters, Kerry W. (Carol) Mettert of Westfield, IN, Marc A. Mettert of Fort Wayne, Jeff L. (Tiffany) Mettert of Elk Grove, CA, Kim M. (Berdell) Wine of Fort Wayne and Tammy L (Dusty) Walls of Fort Wayne;7 grandchildren, Tiffany, Ashlee, Zachary, Miranda, Emily, Adam and Nikita; 3 great grandchildren, Audrey, Emery and Jackson; a brother and 4 sisters, Herb L (Becky) Brandt of Larwill, Mary M Curtis of Casper, WY, Sharon E. “Sues” Mettert of Auburn, Judi Y. Mettert of Fort Wayne and Nancy A. (Bob) Adams of Union, KY. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister Carol Irmscher. Services will be 12 noon Saturday January 11, 2020 at County Line Church of God, 7716 N County Line Road E, Auburn, IN 46706. Rev James Conn will officiate. Burial will follow the service in Cedar Creek Cemetery, Auburn. Calling is 2 hours prior to the service Saturday from 10 to 12 at the church.
