Waterloo – Melinda “Pip” Dunn, 62 of Waterloo died Sunday January 6, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born February 20, 1956 in Garrett to Aden and Opal (King) Carper. Melinda was a 1975 graduate of Garrett High School. She worked for 23 years in the cafeteria at DeKalb Middle School and also drove School Bus for DeKalb Central Schools for 20 years. She retired in 2015. She was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Waterloo. She married Jim Dunn on January 25, 1975 in St. Michaels and he survives. Also surviving are 2 sons and a daughter, Brian (Samantha) Dunn of Waterloo, Karen (Bart) Hardwick of Chesterton and Scott (Michelle) Dunn of Waterloo; 6 grandchildren, Aubrey Dunn, Emery Dunn, Tyler Hardwick, Lilly Hardwick, Herschel Hardwick, Vivian Dunn; 2 brothers and 2 sisters, Tom Carper of Florida, Jody (Tom) Reade of South Bend, Hank (Lynda) Carper of Auburn, Lori (Max) Keck of Fort Wayne and a brother in law, Phil Bonahoom. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Cindee Bonahoom. A mass of Christian Burial will be 11 AM Wednesday January 9, 2019 at St Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 1098 CR 39, Waterloo, IN with Father Vincent Joseph VC officiating.
