Miles Weller

Miles Weller, 93, of Garrett, died Thursday, June 14, 2018, at Betz Nursing Home in Auburn.

Miles was born Sept. 29, 1924, in Garrett to the late Frank and Clara (Sloffer) Weller.

He married Helen “Louise” Wilson on June 14, 1944, at the County Line Church of God and she passed away Aug. 4, 1992. Miles later married June R. (Spencer) Kock on April 15, 1995, at the County Line Church of God, and she survives in Auburn.

Miles was raised on the family farm and worked his entire life farming, owning and operating Green Acres Farm. He also drove school bus for Garrett-Keyser-Butler School District for 20 years.

He was a lifetime member of the County Line Church of God in rural Auburn. He also served on the board of directors for Allen Dairy and DeKalb Farm Mutual Insurance and served as Butler Township trustee for eight years.

Also surviving are three children and their spouses, Greg J. and Marcia Weller of Garrett, Sharen J. Weller of Auburn, and Becky K. and Terry Schanke of Panama City Beach, Florida; seven grandchildren, Shannon Kruse, Dane (Angela) Kruse, Janelle (Karl) Hall, James (Sheena) Weller, Carolyn (Todd) Moughler, Jared (Sarah) Weller and Nicole Schanke; 12 great-grandchildren; two stepchildren, Jerry (Theresa) Kock of Decatur, and Jerilyn (Jerry Hughes) Freeman of Pleasant Lake; four stepgrandchildren, Robin, Cary, Brandon and John; and two stepgreat-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Helen “Louise” (Wilson) Weller; daughter and son-in-law, Jacqueline “Jackie” and Derald Kruse; brother, Floyd Weller; and four sisters, Kathryn Gilbert, Leona Ihrie, Grace Roop and Marian Shoudel.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 Center St., Auburn, with visitation from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday prior to the service. The Rev. Stuart Kruse will be officiating. Burial will take place in Cedar Creek Cemetery in rural Garrett.

Visitation also will be 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
