Naomi M. George, 97, of Fort Wayne passed away Friday, April 6, 2018, at Lutheran Life Villages in Fort Wayne.
She was born January 21, 1921, in Garrett to the late Charles and Frances (Lasch) Newman.
Naomi married Robert George on August 9, 1941, in Garrett, and he passed away in 1983.
Naomi was a homemaker.
She attended the First Church of Christ in Garrett. She was a volunteer for the Heimach Center in Auburn and was a former Girl Scout leader.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Sharon George of Auburn; two daughters, Martha George of Fort Wayne and Reeta George of Fort Wayne; seven grandchildren, Mark (Sheri) George of Auburn, Michael (Amy) George of Angola, Shawn Harlan of California, Christy (John) Vahlberg of California, Emily (John) Pratt of Arkansas, Suzanne Robertson of Arkansas and Elaine Spradlin of Minnesota; 14 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law Marjory (Harold) Powell of Craigville; and son-in-law Joseph Spradlin of Arkansas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter Nancy Spradlin; two brothers, Delmar Newman and Walter Newman; and a sister, Eleanor Borton.
A graveside service will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 21, 2018, at Roselawn Cemetery 1395 Center St., Auburn, with Jerry Weller officiating.
Memorials may be directed to the Heimach Center in Auburn or the First Church of Christ in Garrett.
