Patricia K. (Laughlin) Neuhaus

Patricia K. Neuhaus, age 72, of Auburn passed away on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at her Auburn home.

Mrs. Neuhaus was born on July 21, 1946 in Osceola, Indiana to Wayne and Sylvia (Thompson) Laughlin.  She graduated from Penn High School in Mishawaka.  After high school she attended Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in South Bend graduating in 1967.  Patti has worked as an RN for 43 years, with the last 25 years working in hospice care comforting others in their time of need. 

After graduating from nursing school she married her high school sweetheart, Roy Hyatte.  They were married 32 years when he passed away in 2000.  They had a son, Derek Hyatte.  She has been happily married to Donald Neuhaus since 2014.  She and Don had many good years together.  They enjoyed traveling and fishing.   

Survivors Include:

Her husband; Donald Neuhaus of Auburn.

Son; Derek Hyatte.

Brother and sister-in-law; Dennis and Joan Laughlin.

3 nieces, 1 great niece and 2 great nephews.

Patti also had 3 grandchildren which she “adopted” when they were babies; Tristan Miller, Rowan Miller and Cormac Miller.  They gave her much pleasure and she felt lucky to have them in her life.

She also remained lasting friends with nursing school classmates Genelle (Hladky) King, Mary Ann (Landis) Martin, Diane (Haley) DeCosta, Carol (Martin) Borden and Joy (Easton) Rice.  

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the Auburn United Methodist Church, 1203 East Seventh Street in Auburn with Rev. Grant Merrell officiating.
